Happiness
August 15, 2018

In pursuit of that elusive happy feeling – "happiness", I went and did some digging... through my books of course.

I started reading the book written by Rhonda Byrne titled “The Secret” that I had sitting on my shelf for quite some years now, the following statements screamed out at me,

"Everything that’s coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it’s attracted to you by virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It’s what you’re thinking. Whatever is going on in your mind you are attracting to you.

-
The law of attraction responds to your thoughts no matter what they may be.
-
The law of attraction says like attracts like and so as you think a thought, you are also attracting like thoughts to you.
-
You become what you think about most, but you also attract what you think about most.
-
Your life right now is a reflection of your past thoughts."

When I read that, I closed the book because I was sure Rhonda Byrne did not know what she was talking about. For, if those words were true – MY LIFE IS A REFLECTION OF MY PAST THOUGHTS that would mean I have been attracting doom, despair, disappointment, mishaps and sadness to me three quarter of my life through my own thoughts! NO WAY.

You see, I have felt unhappiness, incredible despair, that no matter how hard I had tried at the time, I just could not think my way out of it.

But several hours later, in my desperate need to find some relief from my despair and needing to focus on something else other than that despair, I picked the book back up and started reading again. These words spoke to me,

“If you can think about what you want in your mind and make that your dominant thought, you will bring it into your life.”
It sounds pretty simple right, too simple, yet, I do get the law of attraction statement that says, " like attracts like " and I get the statement that says,

"YOUR THOUGHTS ARE INCREDIBLY POWERFUL"

which eventually become the words you speak, which inevitably comes from the things you choose to focus on consciously or unconsciously in thought.

So, I decided to put her statements to the test.

Which brings us here, first, as she had suggested I asked myself, what is it that I desired right now? At the time, several things came to mind, the most immediate one was simply, “ to be happy ”, something that can "cost nothing" and should be easily found right?

I’ve discovered, in my little cubicle that I live, happiness isn’t something that I easily find and when I do find it, it’s fleeting since someone or something always pops in and quickly takes it away.

So for the past two weeks or more I have gotten up each day and concentrated on one of those happy motivational images that I created, in hopes that the words will be cemented into my mind and materialize soon :-). In fact, I think I am feeling happier now than before I started, so it may just be working already. Fingers crossed XX.

I am having a Good day today. I am Happy, hope you are too.
